„Absolwenci UEW – Siła Inspiracji | WUEB Alumni – the Power of Inspirations” is a series of meetings with outstanding WUEB alumni, presenting various career paths – from business and science to culture, sports, and social achievements – inspiring current students to make bold decisions and consciously plan their professional future.

It is a space for conversations about personal growth, professional challenges, and the road to success. The meetings provide an opportunity to meet inspiring people, gain practical knowledge, and strengthen relationships between the University, students, and alumni.

At #WUEB, we launched a new series of meetings called “WUEB Alumni – the Power of Inspirations”, and the first guest was someone truly special – Mieczysław Gorzka, author of thrillers, crime novels, and horror & mystery stories, and of course one of our alumni. 📚

The meeting, hosted by Ałła Witwicka-Dudek, Director of the Business Cooperation Center of WUEB, filled the room completely and had the atmosphere of a real author event. Participants heard interesting stories about how books are created, where writers get their knowledge about police techniques, and whether it is really possible to come up with a plot while sitting in traffic. ✨

💬 Mieczysław Gorzka also explained why he chose WUEB and how the skills gained during his studies help him in his work as a writer today – from analytical thinking to work organization and discipline. His story shows that passions can completely change a professional path and that WUEB alumni inspire people in many different ways.

The meeting with Renata Mauer-Różańska as part of the series “WUEB Alumni – the Power of Inspirations” was a unique opportunity to hear a story where top-level international sport meets consistent academic and professional development.

Renata Mauer-Różańska – a two-time Olympic champion, multiple World and European Championship medalist, and WUEB graduate – spoke about her journey, which required great determination and excellent organization. A particularly important topic was balancing many roles at the same time: sports career, studies, work, and motherhood.

The supervisor of Renata Mauer-Różańska’s master’s thesis, Professor Krystyna Mazurek-Łopacińska, also took part in the meeting. During her visit to WUEB, our guest also met with the Rector of WUEB, Professor Czesław Zając. The meeting was hosted by Justyna Golak from the WUEB Business Cooperation Center.

The Olympic champion shared behind-the-scenes stories about her successes and everyday work in elite sports. Participants were especially interested in practical aspects of building concentration and staying calm under pressure. Our guest repeatedly emphasized how important the people around us are and how meaningful the support she received during her studies at WUEB was for her.

Today, Renata Mauer-Różańska continues to support sports by working with the Polish Olympic Committee and engaging in initiatives supporting women in sports.

On Saturday, April 11, 2026, another meeting from the series “WUEB Alumni – the Power of Inspirations” took place. Our guest was Bill Minsker – founder of the Pennsylvania Partnerships Abroad Foundation, former English lecturer at WUEB, mentor to several generations of students, and a great friend of the University.

Many alumni attended the event, including people who had the opportunity to work with Bill both during and after their studies. Among the guests was also Professor Bogusław Fiedor, which was a particularly meaningful part of the meeting for Bill.

During the event, we listened to Bill’s stories from his years working at the University, as well as stories from his life after returning to the United States.

💬 An important part of the meeting was also a discussion panel hosted by Vice-Rector for Finance, Professor Piotr Bednarek. The invited panelists shared memories of working with Bill, explained how this relationship influenced their careers, and discussed possibilities for continuing initiatives started by him.

The meeting ended in a warm and friendly atmosphere. We are very happy that after many years Bill returned to WUEB with such joy.
